Occupational Therapy Assessment
(Report and Recommendations)
The assessment process is completed in three phases:
- Parental Interview: meeting with the parents via video consultation or face to face to discuss the child’s developmental history, likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses and parents get a chance to discuss goals they would like to achieve with occupational therapy input.
- Assessment: Assessment of the child either in their own home or in the clinic. This is usually completed in 1-2 sessions.
- Report and recommendations provision: After the assessment process a report and recommendations are provided to the parents. Parents will get a chance to discuss the report in detail either face to face or over a video consultation and a plan will be made for intervention, review, or discharge.
Occupational Therapy Intervention
After the assessment process, if it is decided that intervention is necessary then a plan will be made to assist the child and family in meeting their goals.
